History Department
Established in the year 1995, the Department offers B.A. (Pass Course),M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. The courses offered foster a distinctive approach that combines scholarly interpretations with systematic reflections on the subject taught.
The students get benefit from the close supervision of faculty members who work at the intersection of History of different periods and creating a vibrant research environment. The Department’s focus is thus on the study of a broad range of culturally significant History of India spanning over a vast period from Ancient to Medieval and Modern along with the World History and an interdisciplinary approach with regard to Women’s Studies and Tourism.
